It is defined as the chronic inflammation of airway characterized by wheezing, cough, breathlessness and chest tightness which usually occurs at night or early morning accompanied with bronchospasm and excess mucous secretion.
CAUSES
It is caused by one or more of the following factors
- Allergic stimulants [ Pollen, dust, chemicals etc.]
- Hereditary [ Parents having Asthma ]
- Viral infections
The defensive mechanism of the body against the viral infection or stimulants releases many immune cells which are responsible for the excessive mucous production and bronchospasm causing wheezing and other symptoms of asthma.
HOMEOPATHIC TREATMENT:
When the person is suffering from an asthmatic attack , each time the airways show increased responsiveness , so that even a small amount of stimulant or exertion may cause wheezing.
Many persons are suffering from Asthma, but each and every person has his own unique symptoms , for example
Person 1: Has an asthmatic attack , where his difficulty in breathing is relieved a little when he is bending his head forward while sitting
Person 2: Here his breathing difficulty is relieved a little when he is moving or walking
Person 3: This person gets asthmatic attack when ever he is exposed to cold air or winter season.
In Homeopathy each person mentioned above gets different medicine
Medicines
Person 1: Kali carb
Person 2: Lobelia
Person 3: Nat.sulph
Hence in Homeopathy the individualistic symptoms of each person is given importance and medicines are prescribed.
In case of Asthma , the main symptoms which a patient must observe are
- What position of body makes the symptoms to increase or decrease
- At what time of a day the symptoms increases or decreases
- Is there any other symptoms occurring along with it [ eg: vomiting, abdominal pain, headache etc ]
- Whether he has cough or not
- Whether cough brings out expectoration ?
- Colour of expectoration ?
- etc.
